Our #GLBride of the week is the beautiful Yasmin, who wore our Fabiana and Maya gown as she married the love of her life. The couple held an elegant 2-day wedding event to celebrate their nuptials with family and friends. In the following interview, Yasmin shares the moments she'll always cherish and her journey to becoming a GL Bride. As told by Yasmin:

A moment of your wedding day will you never forget?

Walking down the aisle with my two brothers and mother, and seeing my husband’s reaction when he saw me in my dress for the first time. A very close second was my husband’s surprise serenade during the dinner reception!

One thing you wish you knew as a new bride?

What advice would you give to future brides? Everyone says to relax and try to live in the moment and I would echo that advice. There is so much going on and it’s easy to get lost in the details. Take a step back and enjoy every minute you can. It really just flies by!

A detail that made your wedding special or unique?

Our monkey logo which we used throughout the wedding, including on invites and as a projection behind the band on the dancefloor, etc. It added a bit of quirkiness to the otherwise elegant theme of our wedding – very much speaking to us as a couple.

How did you know your dress was 'the one'?

I tried on so many dresses and always had Fabiana in the back of my mind. I ended up coming back to it in the end and just feeling ‘right’ in it.

How did it feel when you put on your dress the day of the wedding?

What was everyone’s reaction to the dress? Absolutely beautiful, like a goddess, and ready to walk down the aisle. People loved the dress! Especially the applique flower detail.

Would you have done anything differently?

I would have left more time to touch up between my dress change (from Fabiana to Maya). I ended up rushing in the end and having to quickly jump into Maya – luckily very easy to slip on without too much help!

What was your favorite part of the wedding to plan or were most looking forward to?

Hard to choose just one part as we had 2 days of events. I would have to say, planning all the little things from the welcome bags to the seating chart. I love details and having my guests comment on how the little things injected our personality as a couple into the wedding was very satisfying.

How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?

We met in St. Tropez on a night out – he was on a golf trip with friends and I was celebrating my 30th birthday. He spotted me from across the room and after attempting to get my number a few times, settled for my name on social media. That kicked off our long-distance communication and the rest is history! He didn’t have a specific proposal plan and actually popped the question on holiday over dinner as the sun was setting. He was more focused on the ring, which he designed himself (with no guidance at all from me!).

How did you find working with the team at Galia Lahav?

Galia Lahav was a dream to work with! I customized certain elements of my dress and everything arrived just as I had asked.

How many dresses did you try on before you found it?

Fabiana was actually the second dress I tried on. After that, I ended up trying what felt like 100 dresses (I even flew to NYC with my bridesmaids for the weekend!) only to go back to Browns months later for Fabiana. As a result of having an extra year due to covid, I decided to get a second dress and knew right away I wanted something from Galia. As soon as I put Maya on I knew it was the one!
